Have you ever wondered what true power
is?
Immediately we think of authority, of "the powers that be", of people
in a position of power. We think of power in terms of what we arent able to
do.
The thing is, that really isnt power. Thats just authority. And
authority only has as much power as we give it.
Authority is handy,
because, at a material level, it gets things done.
Im going to share a
moment with you. Im going to make myself a little vulnerable. In doing this,
invariably what happens, is that some of you may have your suspicions confirmed
that I am a bit of a "fruitloop" (which "great" artist isnt?) but others of you
will intuitively enjoy what I am about to share.
I had a walk in the
hills one late event a week or so ago. I was in need of a battery recharge. And
this is the way I do it. I walk, and attempt not to think, but sense... I let my
senses unfurl like the long wings of a bird. At the extremeties of my senses, I
just start to pick up on those little intuitive nudges that have been there for
a while. I needed something, anything, I needed answers. My emotions felt raw
with tiredness.
At the very edge of my senses, I felt the wind, and I
looked out at the twinkling city scape below me... and I heard that still,
silent voice that, whenever we hear it, feels like coming home. (Its not really
a voice, its just putting words to what we sense is true...)

"The wind is powerful. Its powerful becuase of creative tension.
Its rushes from one place, to fill another. It wants to find equilibrium. This
whole, natural world bristles with energy. Its underlying structures provide the
movement for that energy.
This power, these structures, are nothing
compared to the power of your (our!!) imagination."
If you have a problem
that you are trying to solve, then here is a thought. Stop trying to solve
it.
Instead... get a sense of what you want to create. If you focus on something that you
really want to create, something that brings you life and energy, then you will
soon outgrow the problem.
This sounds simple. But the ability to create
can only be engaged within you. The moment you get into "problem solving", you
get fixated on the world without, and any thing you resolve will not really
truly satisfy.
Carl Jung once said:
"All the greatest and most important problems of life
are fundamentally insoluble... They can never be solved, but only
outgrown."
Its interesting
to me that I end this Soul Inspiration on "True Power" with a quote from an
authority. :)
Its amazing how quickly we give our
creative power away sometimes.
Hold onto it. Its yours. Its ok to be
powerful. It feels selfish, but you serve all when you create what you want to create.
